Win a bottle of JURA Whisky
Jura Whisky has quite possibly come up with the best idea Itchy's jealous ears have ever heard.
And in response, Itchy are giving away a bottle of Jura 10 Year Old Malt.
Jura has teamed up with the Scottish Book Trust for the 2nd year running, and are sending three lucky lucky writers off to the Jura Lodge, a five bedroom luxury get-away overlooking the distillery itself, located on the Hebridean Isle of Jura. This beautiful island has a population of 189 people and 6,500 deer – there's more people than that in your average London branch of Topshop. Maybe not so many deers though...
Each writer spends a month on the island in creative bliss, following in the footsteps of George Orwell who stayed there to write 1984 over 60 years ago.
The award winning author Romesh Gunesekera, whose novel Reef was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, was the first author to be chosen for this years experience. While John Burnside, winner of the Saltire Book of the Year for A Life About my Father, will follow him the month after.The third winner, in a new category for 2008, will be an emerging unpublished writer, selected by a panel of literary judges.

This may all seem very elaborate and out of reach. Yes, we shed a tear too. But to make up for it we have a bottle of the good stuff – a 10 year old Jura malt – to give away.
