L2 (The Lomax) (now Carling Academy, needs new review)

Anyone who's not a clubby ponce will like L2. It's a large venue that regularly hosts quality gigs and alternative dance nights. Both levels get covered in beer and filled with unselfconscious guys and gals who just want to have a good time. The top floor is huge and that's where the big gigs are, and it's impressive when full –stand in the middle and recapture that festival atmosphere... that or get the crap mashed out of you. After any gig, there's a DJ who'll play anything from Marilyn Manson to Stevie Wonder. All in all, a good night out.
