The Bluecoat Gallery
Housed in the oldest – 1717 – and most attractive building in Liverpool city centre, The Bluecoat is a real oasis, away from the weather and shopping. The café is worth a visit, – the food's great, but eat quickly as the seats are horribly uncomfortable –, there's also a small walled garden to sit in during the summer. The gallery itself is very spacious and totally uncluttered with some fascinating temporary exhibitions.
