Villa Romana

Large restaurant with ornate 'authentic' Italian décor, including plaster casts which Michelangelo would be proud of. They've really gone to town with the interior of this place. Sandwiched between bars at the bottom of Wood Street, you don't get a feel on the outside of just how opulent and spacious it is inside. The food's excellent, ranging from reasonably–priced pizzas to some pretty fancy pasta dishes. Unfortunately the snooty manager knows that they're good and doesn't mind telling you at length, even when you're just asking where the toilets are.
