Brook Cafe (closed)

If you can find it, Brook Café is definitely worth a visit – it's situated towards the back of Quiggins on the second floor –. Shafts of light pour in through large windows, highlighting plumes of smoke wafting up from young arty types chaining roll ups over a cappuccino. The food, which is displayed around the service island, in the middle of the large, entirely wooden room, always looks appetising and is pretty cheap. It's easy to waste away a couple of hours with a paper in here before returning to the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Get a breakfast down you to cure the hangover..and wait for the pubs to reopen.
