Zanzibar

As the Cavern was to the 60s, so the Zanzibar is to the noughties. For it was here that the whole 'Cosmic Scouse' scene emerged, fomented by blokes who'd realised that the Picket was actually a bit shit. The Coral, The Stands, The Zutons and various other bands who couldn't live without a definite article were gathered by The Bandits like a council to discuss how to get rid of that magic ring thing. That's all gone now, however, and these days you take your chances, as whatever goes on here is the very essence of 'variable', with the evening always being completely unpredictable.
