Green Fish Café

Like Kylie Minogue, this vegetarian specialist is small but perfectly formed. It's suffering from its backstreet location because there always seems to be a skip outside, but then that applies to much of Liverpool at the moment. Altogether very lovely, with ever-changing art on the walls, and the likes of Serge Gainsbourg ('Bonnie und Clyyyyyde') on the stereo, plus really big tables for that earnest meeting about arts funding. We had a fantastic cream of onion soup in their wacky extension, which is slightly spoiled by being under thick plastic sheets.
