Slater's

Probably one of the scariest pubs in the city centre, seeing as it always seems to have drunks staggering around trying to engage you in violent conversation. This must be why it usually has a lot of other patrons looking for the sort of thrills you could only otherwise get when bungee jumping. All the same it's not a terribly prepossessing place, with Lionel Richie on the jukebox, and a rarely-visited basement area that could just as well be a dungeon. 'The College of Knowledge' is the motto. There are plenty of things to be learned here, but none you'd really want in your head.
