Open Eye Gallery
In this age of disabled access for everyone, it's curious that this photographic-based gallery is so inaccessible. We're not talking about its ease of access to those with a disability - there's a rather obvious and space-consuming wheelchair lift bolted to the outside. No, here you need to rely on luck to be let in. Often you will need to ring a bell to drag a member of staff from the back room in order to buzz you in, which lends a certain amount of tension to the undeniably passive act of walking around and looking intently at a load of pictures. Just suck up that pride and wallow.
