Merseyside Maritime Museum
Liverpool's history as a seafaring city, and its ignoble part in the raping and pillaging of the world as part of the Victorian Empire-building machine are commemorated in this exemplary exhibition building. Everything from the history of the Blue Star Line to the sordid story of Liverpool's part in the slavery business is represented here. Appropriately surrounded by water, it's one of the best places in Liverpool to get the full and real history of the place.
