The Cavern Club
Not so much a music venue as a tourist attraction with a stage attached. Yes, it's justly famous as the place where the Beatles staged some of their legendary early gigs, but nowadays, all pretence of putting on local or touring bands has virtually disappeared in favour of tribute acts. No wonder, with so many Japanese tourists eager to photograph every square inch of it, unaware that this isn't the place the Beatles played - that's the car park next door which was filled in with concrete some time in the '70s. The name does get it some quite big acts, though.
