Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King
The environs of this 60s-built cathedral have been spruced up, with discreet offices, a visitor centre and a café framing an all-new Matter of Life and Death staircase leading to the cathedral itself. However, this is all window dressing, as the building is still very much the Brutalist tin shed of old, with its leaking roof and somewhat wonky demeanour undermining its undeniably striking design. Visitors of any denomination are encouraged to visit, and they frequently have events in the spacious crypt, if the idea of that doesn't creep you out.
